EASTHAM BOARD OF ASSESSORS
Minutes of July 25, 2012 Meeting
Chairman Sette called the meeting of the Board of Assessors to order at 2:00 p.m. in the Small Meeting Room.
Present: Assessors Sette, Fagan, and Buffington, and Deputy Assessor Gail McAleer.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Board VOTED unanimously to APPROVE the minutes of the February 16, 2012 meeting.
The Board VOTED unanimously to sign the warrants for the annual assessments for Barnstable County and the Cape Cod Commission.
The Board reviewed and signed the request for reimbursement to the Town from the Commonwealth for various FY12 exemptions that were granted and which a portion is eligible for reimbursement under state statutes.
The Board VOTED unanimously to APPROVE sending out Preliminary bills in FY13 should the need arise. This vote must be taken annually by August 15th in order to preserve this option. Gail McAleer indicated her office is on schedule to send out timely tax bills however, and doesn’t foresee the need for Preliminary bills.
The Board VOTED unanimously to APPROVE the FY13 renewal of the Chapter 61A Agricultural land application for George F. and Jeffrey Handel at 1765 Massasoit Road.
The Board VOTED unanimously to APPROVE and signed the Community Preservation Surcharge Report, State Form CP-1, certifying the amount of CPA money committed to the Collector in FY12 and the total amount of abatements and exemptions that were granted in that fiscal year.
The meeting adjourned at 3:05 p.m.
